Glad you stopped by! I love to read and I love to write. Mostly, I’ve written science fiction, fantasy and mystery novels and short stories. I am sometimes distracted from my writing by snowshoeing, kayaking, water skiing and sewing. In keeping with my Scottish heritage, I am a kilt maker. I proudly wear McPherson tartan, especially at fan and writing conventions. If you see me, say hello.
On a clear night, if the mosquitoes aren’t too bad, I’m out under the stars with my telescope. Favorite constellation: Orion. Favorite nebula: M57 in Lyra. Favorite cluster: The Pleiades. I gaze at Jupiter and Saturn every chance I get, but try not to play favorites with the planets.
My mystery novel Averted Vision, YA fantasy novel Blade of Mad Vision, fantasy novel Monarch of Lightning and my short story collection Roar at the Universe are available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other places. A second collection of stories Through the Wall will be out soon.
My short stories have appeared in The Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror, Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine, the Asimov’s anthology Father’s Day, Amazing Stories, The Third Alternative, and other publications.
I am a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America.
